TAGDev Think Tank

The Africa Regional Agricultural Education, Research, and Policy Center (ARAP) is a center hosting diverse think tanks to shape conversations in education, agricultural development, and policy influence. Across the think tank clusters hosted by the Policy Center, strategic policy development, capacity building & training, stakeholder engagement, partnerships, learning, and impact monitoring will be cross-cutting issues of interest. The think tanks will: 

  1. Conducting evidence-based research on agricultural education, market systems, and youth entrepreneurship
  2. Facilitating knowledge exchange through publications, policy briefs, workshops, and conferences
  3. Promoting collaborative innovation in curriculum design, climate-smart agriculture, and agribusiness development. 

The TAGDev think tank and policy center offers diverse experts to contribute to evidence for Africa’s development journey. Among those targeted are:

  1. Bioeconomy specialists: Focuses on experts with attention to utilization of renewable biological resources sustainably to produce food, energy and industrial goods as well as exploitation of the untapped potential stored biological waste and residual materials.
  2. Agricultural Economists: Expertise in economic modelling, policy analysis, and sustainable agricultural practices.
  3. Climate Scientists: Insights on climate change impacts, mitigation strategies, and adaptation practices.
  4. Innovation and Entrepreneurship Experts: Focus on fostering entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems, and connecting with successful international hubs.
  5. Digital Transformation Specialists: Guidance on integrating digital technologies and promoting a digital economy.
  6. Sustainability Experts: Strategies for sustainable development, resource management, and environmental protection.
  7. Education and Training Specialists: Development of curricula, training programs, and capacity-building initiatives.
  8. Policy Analysts: Analysis of policy frameworks, advocacy, and strategic recommendations for implementation.
